The 22-step journey

Every step below is something that actually happens — not aspirational language about "transforming your career."

Phase 1 — Getting In
Weeks 0–1: Before your programme starts
1
Initial conversation
You speak with a senior team member — not a sales bot. We ask about your background, your goals, and what's not working. You ask us anything you want. No pressure, no countdown timers.
2
Programme recommendation
Based on your background and goals, we suggest the most appropriate technical track and confirm whether the Human Excellence Programme is recommended as an add-on or integrated stream.
Honest advice: if we don't think we're the right fit for you, we'll say so.
3
Enrolment and 7-day window
You enrol, you receive your welcome pack, and your 7-day full-refund window begins. No questions asked if you change your mind in the first week.
4
Tech Lead and HE Practitioner assigned
Before your first session, two people are specifically assigned to your journey — a Tech Lead who monitors your technical progress and a Human Excellence practitioner who conducts your initial assessment.
Phase 2 — Foundations
Weeks 1–4: Building the base
5
Technical foundations begin
Live sessions start. Depending on your programme, this means Python fundamentals, statistics, data handling, or ML prerequisites. The pace is demanding — deliberately. Foundations done well prevent 80% of problems later.
6
HE baseline assessment
Your Human Excellence practitioner conducts a structured assessment covering your performance patterns, key blocks, and development priorities. This determines your personal HE pathway — which modalities, in what order, at what depth.
Assessment covers all 7 modality areas; the pathway is personalised, not generic.
7
EQ profiling
A comprehensive Emotional Intelligence profile across all five domains — self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, social skills. Your results give both you and your practitioner a clear map of where to focus first.
8
First weekly check-in
Weekly 1:1 check-ins with your Tech Lead begin from week 2. These are structured conversations, not vague progress reports — specific blockers addressed, next week's goals agreed, any adjustments to pacing made.
Phase 3 — Core Development
Weeks 5–8: The intensive period
9
Advanced technical curriculum
The core of your technical programme. Machine learning algorithms, model building and evaluation, deployment fundamentals, real-world data challenges. This is where the gap between "I watched the lectures" and "I can actually do this" gets closed.
10
HE modality sessions begin (deep work)
Your personalised Human Excellence sessions begin in earnest. Typically 2–3 sessions per week. Targets vary by person: NLP confidence anchoring, IEMT for exam anxiety or imposter syndrome, Gestalt for blocks, MoM for presence, MSP for career clarity.
Changes in performance are typically noticeable within the first 3–4 sessions.
11
Peer collaboration and group challenges
Structured group projects introduce you to the social dynamics of real technical teams — managing disagreement, navigating different working styles, producing something together under deadline pressure. EQ in practice.
12
Mid-programme review
Formal review at Week 8 covering both tracks. Technical progress against objectives. HE development against the baseline assessment. Any adjustments to pacing, depth, or focus are made here.
Phase 4 — Industrial Project
Weeks 9–18: Real work
13
Industrial project assignment
You are matched with a live project from one of our partner companies. These are real business problems — not case studies written for courses. Your work will affect actual systems and real decisions.
Projects are co-signed by the partner company. This certificate goes on your CV.
14
Technical sprints with Tech Lead oversight
Weekly sprints, Tech Lead available for escalation and code review, regular deliverable milestones. The structure mirrors how actual data and AI teams operate.
15
HE integration — performance under pressure
This is where Human Excellence work really earns its place. The project creates genuine pressure — deadlines, ambiguity, team dynamics, client-facing deliverables. Your HE practitioner is available throughout to address what comes up.
16
Project presentation and sign-off
Final presentation of your project work, evaluated by both ZapThru faculty and a representative from the partner company. This is your first real experience presenting technical work to a professional audience under scrutiny.
Phase 5 — Career Launch
Weeks 15–22: From graduate to employed
17
CV and LinkedIn rebuild
Not just editing your existing CV — rebuilding it from scratch around the project evidence, skills vocabulary that resonates with recruiters, and the positioning that makes you stand out in a market full of similar-looking CVs.
18
Interview preparation with NLP anchoring
Technical interview preparation — structured problem-solving, common question frameworks, real practice with feedback. Paired with NLP confidence anchoring work specifically for interview contexts. This combination addresses both skill and state.
19
Active job matching and introductions
Where relevant, introductions to our employer network. Not a database of job listings — actual conversations with hiring managers on your behalf, where we can vouch for your work directly.
20
HE final session: identity consolidation
A final Human Excellence session focused specifically on the transition into a new professional role or first role after graduation. Consolidates the identity work and installs the anchors for performing in a new environment.
21
Graduation and certificate issuance
Your technical completion certificate from ZapThru Academy and your industrial experience certificate co-signed by the partner company are issued. These document what you did, not just that you attended.
22
Alumni network access
Lifetime access to the ZapThru alumni network, quarterly webinars, updated curriculum resources, and the ability to connect with your Tech Lead and HE practitioner for ongoing support. The relationship doesn't end at graduation.
Alumni often return to us when considering their next career move.

Things people usually ask

How much time do I need to commit per week?
Realistically, 15–25 hours per week for the technical track, and 3–5 hours for Human Excellence sessions. The programmes are demanding — they need to be. If you can give less than 15 hours consistently, we'd honestly suggest waiting until you have more capacity.
Can I do this while working full-time?
Some students do. It's harder. We've had working professionals complete programmes successfully, but it requires good planning and support from family or managers. Talk to us about your situation in the first conversation — we'll give you an honest assessment rather than just telling you it's fine.
What is the Human Excellence Programme exactly — is it therapy?
It's not therapy in the clinical sense. It's performance psychology — precision work on the specific patterns that limit professional performance. Most sessions feel more like coaching than therapy. You're not excavating your childhood; you're systematically addressing the patterns that are in the way of your goals right now.
What if I don't progress fast enough technically?
Your Tech Lead flags this early — usually by week 3 or 4. We adjust pacing, add support sessions, or in some cases recommend prerequisites work before going further. We'd rather slow down and do it properly than rush you through curriculum you haven't absorbed.
Is the industrial project real work or a simulation?
Real. You're working on actual problems for actual companies. The deliverables go somewhere real. The experience certificate is signed by the company that gave you the project — not just by us. That's the whole point of it.
What happens if I need to pause the programme?
Life happens. We have a clear withdrawal and pause policy — see our Refund Policy page for full details. Briefly: within 7 days, full refund, no questions. After that, we work on a case-by-case basis. We don't hold people to programmes that genuinely aren't working for them.
